Following a good weekend at the Salzburgring, the Formelaustria Race Academy drivers ran out of luck in Slovakia.
Neither Andreas Lo Bue, nor Tomas Rudokas had a single accident-free race, so that P11 of Lo Bue remained the best single result of the weekend at the Slovakiaring.
Lo Bue showed two rocket starts to catapult himself from P16 far into the Top 10, but was hit by Ella Häkkinen twice, in lap 1 in the opening run, and in the dying seconds of race 3, which cost him valauble points. In the latter, the highly-talented French-Swiss driver was battling his way through the field and was close to a Top 5 result.
“Accidents are part of racing, but this time it was really tough for Andreas. He was extremly quick both times and would have deserved better results,” team boss Sepp Renauer commented.
Also, teammate Rudokas was a crash victim in final race. The Lithuanian rookie had every chance to finish in the points in the final race, but was taken out early by a competitor.
“It’s very unfortunate. Our lads gave their all and were highly unlucky having to leave Slovakia empty-handed. But such weekends happen. There’s nothing you can do, except for telling yourself that luck will retun to us,” Formelaustria Race Academy director Harry Miltner added.
After a one-month summer break, F4 CEZ will continue at the Autodrom Most in Czech Republic on July 31 to August 2.
