On Monday, another Austrian, young Carinthian Samuel Lex, completed his first Formula 4 kilometers with Renauer Motorsport at the Red Bull Ring as part of the Formelaustria.at Race Academy.
“Sophomore” Marcel Kieser also returned to an F4 car after a long break and immediately showed good pace.
A dedicated motorsport fan, Lex has been riding enduro as a hobby for several years, before starting sim racing. Being a successful virtual racing driver, the 17-year-old decided it was time to go real and contacted the academy.
Having impressed academy track director Flo Renauer at his initial Mini Cooper Clubsport Development Training, Lex was invited to do a professional F4 test at the notorious Red Bull Ring.
“It’s like a dream come true. Of course, there is a lot to learn for me, but I enjoyed every second in the F4 car,” the young Austrian was all smiles.
Renauer was also content saying: “Samuel did a good job considering, it was his first ever outing in a single-seater. Moreover, it was a pretty busy day on the track with several BOSS GP cars in action.”

Lex is scheduled to join the team’s next test in June to gain some more experience.
On another note, academy driver Marcel Kieser was also back in action and immediately showed decent lap times.
“It was great to be back out there. I felt at home again quickly and I cannot wait to get more track time,” Kieser said, who is expected to compete in the 2026 Carbonia Cup season.
The Lower-Austria native joined the Formelaustria Race Academy last year and scored one win and two more podium finishes in his five starts in the Carbonia Cup.
