Bittersweet F4 CEZ season opener for Formelaustria Race Academy drivers

F4 CEZ season opener a mixed bag for the Formelaustria Race Academy drivers

Renauer Motorsport newcomer Andreas Lo Bue achieved his best results yet at the Red Bull Ring, finishing 6th and 8th, and qualified 7th for the final race. Unfortunately, he was forced off the track by another driver while battling for P6, resulting in a puncture. Thus, the Swiss talent was forced to retire.

Teammate and F4 rookie Tomas Rudokas showed great promise, especially on Friday in wet conditions, posting the 7th fastest time. In the first race, he finished 16th out of 28 starters, narrowly missing out on points (up to P15). The Lithuanian had bad luck in race 2, being hit from behind in the pit lane and forced to stop on the track with a flat tire.

“The season opener in Styria brought us many highlights, but unfortunately also a few setbacks. Overall, though, we can be satisfied with the start,” commented Race Academy Director Harry Miltner.

“Andreas presented himself much stronger here at Renauer Motorsport than he did last season. His potential was evident, and there’s certainly more to come from him. Everything is new for Tomas – the car, the championship, the environment – so he’ll need time to develop. But he, too, had some very positive moments this weekend.”

The next stop of the F4 Central European Zone is also in Austria, from May 29th to 31st at the Salzburgring. Formelaustria will once again be launching a Meet & Greet competition for the event.
