Following a positive F4 screening test, Kristian Zonta has become the latest member of the Formelaustria Race Academy
Zonta, not related to former F1 driver Ricardo, hails from Northeast Australian racing capital Townsville, and gained FARA’s attention with good karting results Down Under and his visit to the legendary Winfield Racing School in France.
He was invited by FARA to a F4 screening test at Slovakiaring and has now signed a membership contract with Austria’s only professional junior driver programme.
“Kristian definitely has great potential, so we are happy that he has joined the Formelaustria Race Academy family,” Programme Director Harry Miltner was content.
“Moving from karts to F4 cars is quite a big step and it takes time to adapt. It’s our job to work with Kristian, nurture his talent, and help him cope with the steep learning curve as best and as fast as possible.”
Zonta started racing in 2024 and spent the past two seasons racing KA3 karts. He now feels ready to the next career step moving to single seaters.
“I am super excited to go F4 racing now and I am grateful that FARA and Renauer Motorsport will support me on the way,” the 16-year-old said.
The 16-year-old will start out his two-year programme with the FARA Driver Development Training in a Mini Cooper Clubsport race car, before he goes back into the F4 challenger.
Karting talents or top sim racers from all corners of the world can apply for admission to the Formelaustria Race Academy by contacting office@formelaustria.at
